February is Black History Month, and is especially the time America celebrates Black Achievers such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, Nelson Mandela and so many others. As various nationalities have their cultural outlets such as Galavision, we are happy to be able to showcase ours. Actor Eddie Murphy and others did a good job in portraying the African people and lifestyles in their movie called “Coming to America” years ago. Although it was a good movie, there was a lot of Hollywood in it. We Africans want to tell our own story, the true story. That is the purpose of The Yaba TV Show. Watch samples of our Show on our website. Please join us for our Black History Banquet and fundraiser on Saturday, February 23, 2013. We will be serving Nigerian, Ghanaian, Ethiopian and Jamaican food! Also, we will have diverse cultural performances and an eclectic fashion show to accompany the flavors of Africa and Jamaica. Support us by advertising in our program booklet. If you cannot attend, please extend a generous contribution and we will acknowledge your support. Yaba TV is non-profit corporation and all donations are tax deductible.
