Sia-Sia's Bio

Sia-Sia represents the voice of a vast, extra-ordinary world of Africans. Growing up in Africa, almost everyone seems to easily identify with Sia-Sia’s character; she is simply honest, she is not afraid to point out someone’s fault in any given situation and make up with him or her later.  At Moonlight Storytelling, she played different drums, sang songs, danced and helped others to get use to the versatility of styles.  Sia-Sia was called “Blossom Talent Tree.”  The reason was quiet adamant, she learned quickly, she adapted to changes quickly, and she always invented new ideas that made her popular among others.

When Sia-Sia was in Africa, she used to watch a TV sitcom called “Different Strokes.”  The name was what attracted her very much. It gave her a definition of discovering her many hidden talents, which began to unfold when she came to the United States.

Sia-Sia has incorporated all of her natural talents to create great show, using skills from Moonlight Storytelling, private television production training, traditional college, and technical trade school. She was partially raised in Africa and has been living in the United States for over 20 years.  Sia-Sia is serving as a perfect bridge between cultures as she presents The Yaba TV Show.

She has always believed that times change and people do change. Regardless of many negative connotations on the media dealing with issues of Africa, or the perception of what is an acceptable television personality in America, she refused to see a stumbling block in her career.

Sia-Sia was not born into wealth, but she pursed her passion for education and cultural connections on her own merits. Thanks to the kind sponsorship of Civil Rights Activist, James H. Meredith, who was the first African-American to attend a non-black school at the University of Mississippi in the 1960’s, with the protection of many U.S. Marshals; who noticed the talent of Sia-Sia, stretched his kind hands, and brought her to the United States. Sia-Sia arrived to America in September of 1984.
